Relationship Counseling
My therapeutic approach is grounded in intersectional feminist theory; I believe the key to understanding what is going on in your life is rooted not only in your individual identities but how societal and cultural expectations influence and impact you. I am committed to building trust in the therapeutic relationship and take an open, empathetic approach to understanding you and your needs. I utilize a variety of techniques and interventions from many therapeutic approaches in order to tailor therapy to your specific needs and goals. There are a few theories/techniques I pull from most often and those are: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, somatic skills/therapies, and mindfulness-based skills/therapies. I use a queer-affirming and trauma-informed approach with all clients and have spent my training/career mainly working with LGBTQ+ people, neurodivergent people, trauma, anxiety, and relationships (of all structures). Additionally, my work is sex positive and weight neutral.

My goal is to provide a space in which individuals feel free to express their inner experience without judgment. I meet each person where they are in their journey. As a result, my approach is affirming, culturally responsive, and individualized. I often integrate the use of traditional therapy approaches with art therapy. Art therapy provides a creative avenue to visualize goals, change perspective, develop a deeper understanding of emotions, and stay anchored to the present moment. Clients often find that creative expression through art can capture emotions and memories in ways that words cannot. I am also trained to provide traditional evidence-based treatment approaches. Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy, I can connect individuals of all ages to skills for building healthy relationships, gaining peace of mind and tolerating distress. I offer modified Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and teens that have experienced trauma, loss or life transition. This approach supports individuals and families in developing healthy coping skills, resolving trauma related concerns, effectively integrating traumatic experiences, and progress through life in a safe and positive manner.

Specialties: Relationships & Cultural Concerns, Sex & Sexuality, Stress Management, Identity & Values Exploration
As a LPC who practices Relational Cultural Therapy, I view relationships as significant to how we grow and when we suffer. Our past & present relationships and the messages we receive from society can influence how we relate to ourselves & others—developing growth-fostering connections or protecting ourselves through disconnection. Providing a safe and welcoming space, we can explore how you’ve learned to hide or protect important parts of yourself and find what works for you to authentically connect and deepen your relationships. Collaborating together about what you need or want from therapy is an important part of my approach to therapy, as you are the expert of your life.
I use mindfulness, compassion, empathy, and intersectional feminist theories to understand how others and society have influenced your development. I also have a passion for creating a safe, welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and partners, plus working with people who might describe themselves as sensitive or neurodivergent. Hopefully, our work together leads to deeper, more meaningful connections with others and the expression of your genuine, authentic self.

My counseling philosophy is rooted in the belief that every person possesses inherent strengths,
and with the right support, can navigate life's challenges and achieve a fulfilling life. I provide a safe, empathetic, and judgement-free space that is inclusive to all individuals. Together, we will
collaborate as a team to address your goals and challenges while promoting growth, empowerment, and wellness.
I utilize an integrative and holistic approach within a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
framework. CBT explores the interplay between our thoughts, emotions, behavior, and
physiology. In addition, I draw from various evidence-based practices such as acceptance and
commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based
approaches. This allows me to tailor my support to the unique needs of each client, emphasizing the mind-body connection, and considering the whole person.
