I use a holistic approach with a variety of evidence based approaches.  These include Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Theory, and Habit Reversal Training.  I also use talk therapy from a person centered approach to assist clients with finding words and expressions to assist with communication and identifying how emotions influence our behaviors and thoughts. I have extensive experience working with trauma, teens and adults, individuals transitioning, life transitions, and anxiety.

Therapy for Adults and Relationship Counseling
My therapeutic approach is grounded in intersectional feminist theory; I believe the key to understanding what is going on in your life is rooted not only in your individual identities but how societal and cultural expectations influence and impact you. I am committed to building trust in the therapeutic relationship and take an open, empathetic approach to understanding you and your needs. I utilize a variety of techniques and interventions from many therapeutic approaches in order to tailor therapy to your specific needs and goals. There are a few theories/techniques I pull from most often and those are: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, somatic skills/therapies, and mindfulness-based skills/therapies. I use a queer-affirming and trauma-informed approach with all clients and have spent my training/career mainly working with LGBTQ+ people, neurodivergent people, trauma, anxiety, and relationships (of all structures). Additionally, my work is sex positive and weight neutral.

Relationship Counseling
Specialties: Relationships & Cultural Concerns, Sex & Sexuality, Stress Management, Identity & Values Exploration

As a LPC who practices Relational Cultural Therapy, I view relationships as significant to how we grow and when we suffer. Our past & present relationships and the messages we receive from society can influence how we relate to ourselves & others—developing growth-fostering connections or protecting ourselves through disconnection. Providing a safe and welcoming space, we can explore how you’ve learned to hide or protect important parts of yourself and find what works for you to authentically connect and deepen your relationships. Collaborating together about what you need or want from therapy is an important part of my approach to therapy, as you are the expert of your life.

I use mindfulness, compassion, empathy, and intersectional feminist theories to understand how others and society have influenced your development. I also have a passion for creating a safe, welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and partners, plus working with people who might describe themselves as sensitive or neurodivergent. Hopefully, our work together leads to deeper, more meaningful connections with others and the expression of your genuine, authentic self.
